If you are currently selling your home, then you know importance of “curb appeal”. There are a variety of ways to enhance the curb appeal of your home, whether you are selling or just want to make things look nice for the summer.
HGTV put together a nice list of things you can do to improve your curb appeal. I thought I would summarize them here for you:
Take good quality pictures of your home. Try to avoid taking pictures in too much light. Overcast skies are perfect for pictures. Reduce the amount of clutter in pictures.
Act like a buyer. Walk around your home with a critical eye and look for anything that may need repairing.
Check your roof. A good roof will be important to all buyers. Make sure there are no missing shingles or other issues.
Make sure the house numbers are visible and replace them if need be.
Get a second opinion. Someone else may notice issues that you may not be aware of. A second opinion will help you prioritize what work needs to be done first.
Pressure washing decks, driveways, siding and sidewalks is an easy way to make things look new again.
Add some flowers or plants to add colour to your yard. New mulch will also give your gardens a cleaner look.
Open the shutters, curtains and blinds. Homes that are brighter inside will sell faster.
Light up your gardens and walkways. Solar lights are an easy way to add some light to make your house stand out at night.
Add some paint. Painting doors or trim will go a long way in making your house look new and fresh.
